FAQ

Minor imperfections disclaimer & randomized effects

Dice may have minor imperfections (tiny marks, micro-scratches, or small dings, inconsistent inking) from the manufacturing or shipping process. This is normal and usually only noticeable up close. If a product includes randomized effects (color swirls, glitter distribution, etc.), your set will vary from the photos because no two sets are exactly alike.

Photography & Colors

We photograph our dice to be true-to-life (balanced close to daylight around 5600K). We try not to ā€œoverglamā€ our photos, and we do our best to show what you’ll actually receive. That said, screens and lighting can wildly change how colors look. If your dice seem radically different, the quickest reality-check is to view them in natural daylight (near a window or outside), and compare again.

Can I customize which dice are included?

Usually, no. Most of our sets are pre-built and packed as designed, so we can’t swap out certain dice types for others. Even when it feels like a simple change, substitutions create leftover dice that can’t be resold as complete sets, and they slow down fulfillment (which pushes prices up for everyone).

These dice look like [Other Brand's] Dice?... Who makes these?

A lot of dice in the industry come from the same factories (often in China, but not always). Those factories sell through multiple vendors, and many brands end up carrying similar or even identical designs.

If two listings look different, it’s often photography, editing, lighting, or batch variation. Pricing differences are usually about overhead, marketing strategy, and margin choices, not necessarily that one set is ā€œsecretly different.ā€

Are These Balanced?

Depends a bit on the specific set, but broadly speaking: yes, for normal play. Even well-made dice can have tiny inconsistencies in shape, polish, and weight. In practice, those differences are usually trivial compared to the chaos of an actual roll. And for RPG dice specifically, the numbers are intentionally scattered so any small ā€œpreferenceā€ is less likely to matter. Our rule of thumb: if you’re doing high-stakes scientific research, don’t use gaming dice. For board games, TTRPGs, and everyday rolling, they’re great.
